It’s results show time! Who will get the last four spots? The final group of 12 acts performed on Tuesday night. The top 3 acts, based on America’s vote, will advance to the semifinals. The judges will then select either the 4th or 5th place act for the 4th act to advance to the semifinals. Looking back at my post from Tuesday, I predicted Taylor Matthews, ArcAttack, Anna & Patryk, and Murray would advance and my own personal opinion of the acts is that Anna & Patryk, Strikers All Stars, ArcAttack, and Murray should advance. Did America agree with my opinions or my predictions? Let’s get this show started.
After a a quick recap of the show and some banter with the judges it’s time for some results.
Nick calls out Doogie Horner, Mary Ellen, and Murray. Murray is the obvious choice, will it happen? The act advancing to the Semifinals is Murray! Can’t say that I’m sorry to see Mary Ellen go. Doogie had his moments but isn’t really at the level he needs to be at. Keep practicing Doogie!
We take a break from the results to enjoy a performance by Taio Cruz singing his current hit single “Dynamite”. I’m a big fan of this song as well as Taio’s first hit “Break Your Heart” (which was used in Lindsey’s performance last night). Pretty good performance with good audience participation on the chorus.
Nick calls out Taylor Matthews, Da Maniacs, and Lindsey Stirling. Taylor would appear to be the favorite to advance. And the act advancing to the Semifinals is Taylor Matthews! Two cuts and no surprises. Still need to work on the awkwardness of the congratulation hugs, especially with large groups like Da Maniacs.
Nick calls out Strikers All Stars, Nu Covenant, and Prince Poppycock. This one’s tougher to call. I would say that Nu Covenant doesn’t really have a chance but it’s even money between Strikers and the Prince. The real downside here is that we now know that either ArcAttack or Anna & Patryk will not advance. And the act advancing to the Semifinals is Prince Poppycock! Well, that answers the question of whether America would support Prince Poppycock. Some added flavor to the Semifinals for sure.
We next get a performance from former Poison frontman Bret Michaels. Bret’s been through a lot both good and bad in the past couple of years and may even have a higher Q rating than he had during Poison’s heyday. Bret performs “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn”, Poison’s signature song. I would have thought Bret would be here to promote something but apparently not. He thanks the fans for supporting him through the tough times he’s had recently with his illness.
Back to the results! Nick calls the three remaining acts out to the stage, Anna & Patryk, ArcAttack, and Rudi Macaggi. The first act eliminated is Rudi Macaggi. It’s up to the judges to decide between Anna & Patryk and ArcAttack. This one’s tough, I really like both acts but see ArcAttack as the more Vegas act. Piers votes for Anna & Patryk citing their growth throughout the competition and their potential. Howie votes for ArcAttack saying that you can really feel the electricty when they perform and saying that ballroom dancing may not be quite right for AGT. It’s up to Sharon and she votes for ArcAttack! ArcAttack advances to the Semifinals! This was a really difficult decision for the judges. Anna & Partyk are really good and I’m sure they will continue to excel in their craft. ArcAttack really bring something different and will be a good addition to the Semifinals.
So, the 4 acts who advance are: Murray (Magician), Taylor Matthews (Singer), Prince Poppycock (Opera Singer) and ArcAttack (Performance Artists).
Join us back here next Tuesday when 12 acts from the YouTube auditions perform.

looking back on this is funny that arch attack wasnt even anywhere near the top 5 in the semi’s and at worst anna and patrick were 4th
