It’s results show time again! Who will be the 5 acts to be named Finalists and complete the top 10? 12 Semifinal acts got a chance to perform for America’s vote on Tuesday night. The top 4 acts, based on America’s votes, will advance to the Finals. The judges will then select either the 5th or 6th place act for the 5th act to advance to the Finals. Looking back at my post from Tuesday, I predicted Jackie Evancho, Fighting Gravity, Michael Grasso, Alice Tan Ridley, and Debra Romer would advance and my own personal opinion of the acts is that Jackie Evancho, Michael Grasso, Fighting Gravity, Alice Tan Ridley, and Jeremy Vanschoonhoven should advance. Did America agree with my opinions or did one of the other deserving acts get through? Let’s get this show started and find out.
After a quick recap of the show and some banter with the judges it’s time for some results.
Nick calls Debra Romer, Michael Grasso, Murray, and Nathaniel Kenyon to the stage. I would hope that Michael Grasso advances. And the act advancing to the Finals is Michael Grasso! Good job, he really made up for his lackluster Vegas showing.
Next we get a performance from the cast of Le Reve. They are based out of the Wynn Las Vegas casino. The strength and balance moves are really impressive. According to Wikipedia, the act is usually done in an aquatic theater.
Nick calls out Fighting Gravity, and Jeremy Vanschoonhoven. Fighting Gravity is the obvious choice but I wouldn’t be surprised if Nick puts both acts through. And the act advancing to the Finals is, both of them! Fighting Gravity and Jeremy Vanschoonhoven both advance to the Finals! That’s cool. And also cool is the one big group hug of the 13 guys from Fighting Gravity and Jeremy is the middle. Score one for variety.
Back from commercial we get a performance from Jason Derulo. Jason performs his current hit single “Ridin’ Solo”. To clarify what Nick said about Jason having had his first two singles (“Whatcha Say”, and “In My Head”) hit number one and being the only solo male artist to do that, Nick’s referring to the Pop Songs Chart (Also known as Top 40 Mainstream) which has been around since 1992. Jason kind of takes a page from Fighting Gravity’s playbook by using some blacklight. Jason’s audio equipment is kind of on the fritz as well but he soldiers on and gives a good performance.
Before Nick can call out the next round of acts, Jerry Springer appears behind him to do a bit to promote the AGT tour.
Nick calls out Haspop, Jackie Evancho, and Maestro Alexander Bui. Jackie not making it would the shock of the TV season. And the act advancing to the Finals is Jackie Evancho! Duh.
Nick calls out the final 3 acts; Studio One Young Beast Society, Michael Lipari & Ashleigh Dejon, and Alice Tan Ridley. This one is a dead heat for me, I’m fine with any of them advancing. The first act eliminated is Michael & Ashleigh. Piers votes for Studio One Young Beast Society. Sharon votes for Studio One Young Beast Society. Studio One Young Beast Society advances to the top 10.
This week balances out the acts as only Jackie is a singing act and she’s opera, not pop. We end up with 5 singing acts (Michael Grimm, Taylor Matthews, Christina & Ali, Prince Poppycock, and Jackie Evancho), 2 dance acts (Anna & Partyk, and Studio One Young Beast Society), 1 magician (Michael Grasso), and whatever you want to classify Fighting Gravity and Jeremy Vanschoonhoven as.
So, the 5 acts who advance are: Jackie Evancho (Opera Singer), Fighting Gravity (Performance Artists), Michael Grasso (Magician), Jeremy Vanschoonhoven (Trick Bike Rider), and Studio One Young Beast Society (Dance Crew).
Next Week we start the Finals. The top 10 is:
Prince Poppycock, Anna & Patryk, Michael Grimm, Taylor Matthews, Christina & Ali, Jackie Evancho, Fighting Gravity, Michael Grasso, Jeremy Vanschoonhoven, and Studio One Young Beast Society.

Wow, I’m surprised and very pleased with the results tonight. Everyone that I hoped would make it did.
It’s kinda sad that the semis ended up being so lopsided because there were some fantastic acts from this week that would’ve been shoe-ins last week, like Alice Tan Ridley or Michael and Ashley.
Overall, though, I find that the top 10 this year has struck a nice balance, with five singers and five exceedingly different acts. I can honestly say that I’m pretty excited how the last couple of weeks will play out.
alice should be in over kristina and all. i think its sad that nbc stacked the deck for poppycock and grimm to have a cakewalk to the top 10. thats the way i see it. the only other act out of those 5 that belongs there for sure is anna and patrick, and thats cause they are not only talented they work hard and the preservered and improved when piers gave them another chance in the wildcard round. and they should never have been there cause sharon screwed them over in the first place.
i think we see now that jackie can go up against the big talent and hold her own. even if she was nervous last night. I think though she needs to be perfect from here on out.
im glad grazzo went thru. i saw alot of sentiment today that murray was better last night. i dont know what those people were watching.
out of the last 10 acts left, my 3 favorites are grazzo, jackie, and anna and patrick. i’d say jackie is a real possibility to win, grazzo might have a chance, and anna andpatrick would be the long shot of the 3
This is probably the best top 10 they’ve had ever. It’s so good that I actually am betting on the final 4 (and I only bet when it’s fun, no desire to win money). Pulling for Poppycock to pull out the win. Easily the most theatrical act left plus a great voice to back it up so I’m pulling for him as the dark horse to win.
